Hard ciders, like hard seltzers and canned cocktails, have benefitted from the craft beer boom of the early 2000s. Credit the expanded taste buds of consumers and the ingenuity of small-batch brewers. There’s a veritable orchard of hard cider options out there, though some of them can taste sickly sweet. We taste-tested the latest and (sometimes) greatest hard ciders on the market and made a few important discoveries.
7 – ANXO Transcontinental
The District is home to one of the best under-the-radar cideries in the country. You’ll cherish citrus notes and a nicely tannic finish coming from Pacific Northwest cider apples fermented by Snowdrift. While it’s not the most crushable cider on the market, it’s still surprisingly smooth and refreshing nonetheless.
